On both sides of Radcliffe line, minorities are brutally exploited. Seeds of hatred are deeply rooted in the unfortunate land of subcontinent. India's extremist tendencies under the grab of secularism are crystal clear. In fact India never was a secular state. While on other side of the border, though harsh for many, minorities are forcefully converted. They are treated as third class citizens. They aren't given jobs on the basis of their abilities. Their faith determines their fate.

Had these politicians behaved sanely, much of the destruction could have been avoided.
